Faculty Position: Professor of Population Health Sciences in Biostatistics
Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM) is searching for a senior statistician to grow and lead a Data Coordinating Center (DCC) that will support various clinical research initiatives across the WCM campus. The candidate should have the experience in leading a Data Coordinating Center. The individual needs to be highly competitive in obtaining new NIH DCC grants or contract, and expanding our capability in this area. A doctor degree with expertise in biostatistics, or a related discipline, is required. Candidates should have considerable experience collaborating on clinical research studies in an academic health care setting. Statistical methodological research relevant to clinical trials is desirable. Excellent academic writing and communication skills must be clearly demonstrated.
Job requirements:
The successful candidate will help write grant applications, obtain funding for and lead and manage the DCC, as well contribute to the design and analysis of these multi-center studies. It is expected that the candidate will oversee the implementation of all the necessary components of a DCC including data management, quality assurance processes, and site monitoring. Some independent PhD-level methodological research in a related area will be expected, and some teaching opportunities are available. Support for junior faculty support, master’s-level statistical support, and other administrative support personnel will be provided. The level of faculty appointment will likely be at the Professor rank, although exceptional candidates at the Associate Professor rank will be considered. The position will provide ample opportunity to further career development.
