The Division of Biostatistics in the Department of Population Health Sciences at Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow with interest in semi-parametric estimation for causal inference. The postdoc will join a research team with active NIH and PCORI funded projects developing novel tools for various causal inference problems, including mediation, transportability, longitudinal data, dynamic treatment regimes, modified treatment policies, etc.
This position offers ample opportunity for collaboration and applied research. The fellow is expected to work closely with research teams at WCM and Columbia University applying the methods developed to a range of problems in depression and opioid use disorder research, as well as critical care research.
The postdoc is expected to increase her/his methodological knowledge of causal inference, and lead and co-author manuscript publications. S/he will perform data analyses, simulations, prepare manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals, and deliver presentations at scientific meetings. Opportunities to develop and write funding proposals are also available. The position offers compensation commensurate with experience, excellent benefits package and funds for travel to professional conferences and meetings, and potential to extend the fellowship. Individuals with the following characteristics will be competitive for the position: strong biostatistics/causal inference background and R programming, excellent communication, and ability to conduct self-directed and collaborative research.
Salary established below per annum commensurate with qualifications experience:
Eligibility: PhD or other doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics, or a closely related field. Candidates with prior postdoctoral training are also eligible to apply.
