Joseph Pérez

Joseph Daniel Pérez, a senior research assistant at Weill Cornell Medicine's Department of Population Health Sciences, provides logistical, operational, and research support to Dr. Sean Murphy's lab and the CHERISH Methodology core. Joseph has showcased health economic substance use research at notable conferences, including the 2023 Addiction Health Services Research (AHSR) Conference and AcademyHealth’s 16th Annual Conference on the Science of Dissemination and Implementation in Health. Beyond his research endeavors, Joseph has been instrumental in planning events, such as the 2022 CHERISH Opioid Simulation Modeling Workshop in Seattle, WA, and the 2023 AHSR Conference in New York, NY.

With a diverse professional background as a bilingual elementary school teacher, medical scribe, and substance use researcher, Joseph's dedication to underserved communities fuels his ambition to become a culturally-responsive physician assistant (PA). His ultimate aim is to serve as a clinician-researcher, closing gaps in both medicine and public health for marginalized populations, thereby contributing to a more equitable healthcare and public health landscape.
