In September 2026, Arush Chandna, co-founder of Inspira Advantage, a medical school admissions consulting company, interviewed Dr. Mark Unruh, associate professor of population health sciences at Weill Cornell Medicine, about the M.S. in Health Policy & Economics.
Dr. Unruh provided insights into how the program helps aspiring pre-medical students understand the health care system by exploring insurance, payment models, health policy, regulations, and health care delivery. He also discussed how the program helps students develop a broader perspective on the factors shaping health outcomes, gain experience in health policy analysis and interdisciplinary work, and better understand the policy, financial, and administrative challenges physicians encounter in practice.
