The Sandra and Edward Meyer Cancer Center (MCC) is a collaborative research institution at Weill Cornell Medicine, affiliated with NewYork-Presbyterian. With over 250 basic scientists, pathologists, bioinformaticians, surgeons, oncologists, radiologists and other clinicians, MCC aims to ensure that patients have access to emerging new therapies while simultaneously training future researchers and recruiting leaders in cancer research and clinical care. The Cancer Prevention and Control Program (CPC), led by Dr. Rulla Tamimi, focuses on elucidating the determinants of cancer incidence, morbidity and mortality across the cancer care continuum and methods to reduce these rates within the catchment area. The CPC aims to better identify the differences between cancer survival outcomes by race/ethnicity, and accordingly address health literacy, cultural competency and health equity within the population. For more information about MCC and CPC, please visit the Center's website
