Matthew Harrington

Matthew Harrington is a student and ambassador in the MS in Health Policy and Economics program. He graduated from Dickinson College with a BA in economics and previously worked as an emergency medical technician in Ohio. Shaped by this frontline exposure and his personal experience as the son of two cancer survivors, Matthew is driven to improve the health care system and expand access to affordable care. During his time in the program, Matthew has sharpened his public speaking skills, developed an interest in health services research, and honed his skills in Stata and SAS. He also deepened his understanding of current policy issues and research design. Matthew especially appreciates the career mentorship provided through the program, which shares full-time and internship opportunities for students on a biweekly basis. He is currently working with assistant professor of medicine Dr. Arnab Ghosh on a scoping review of home health outcomes and extreme weather events, with the goal of publication in a medical journal. After graduation, Matthew seeks to work at the intersection of healthcare, technology, and policy and pursue medical school thereafter.
