Drawn to policies that affect the health care system and health care industry structure, Dr. Caitlin Davis began her residency program in 2025. She joined the program after two years as a finance model lead at the Innovation Center at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, where she collaborated with state and local partners to drive health policy development and adoption.
Since 2023, Dr. Davis has served as a leader of the Society of Health Policy Young Professionals, creating opportunities for students and early-career professionals to engage with industry leaders on critical policy issues, such as medical care for incarcerated individuals. Dr. Davis, who holds an MD with a concentration in health policy from George Washington School of Medicine and an MSc in economics from the University of Warwick, has worked as a health policy postdoctoral fellow at the American Board of Family Medicine and as a health policy analyst at Mathematica.
“I’m endlessly fascinated by medical history and everything we stand to learn from the past. I picked up plenty of outdated pharmaceutical knowledge while volunteering for the Office of Historic Alexandria as an apothecary museum docent,” said Dr. Davis. “Please feel free to come to me with all of your questions on 18th-century tinctures.”
Dr. Davis is completing the MS in health informatics at WCM as part of her residency, building on both her research goals and clinical interests in trauma-informed substance use disorder and mental health treatment. “I’m looking forward to leveraging skills in health informatics and AI to work toward a more sustainable, patient-centered, and equitable health care infrastructure.”
