Postdoctoral Associate in Aging Research

The Division of Health Policy and Economics of the Department of Population Health Sciences at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City is recruiting a postdoctoral associate to conduct aging-related research. The postdoctoral associate will work under the supervision of  Dr. Hye-Young Jung, associate professor in the Division, in collaboration with Dr. Jiani Yu, assistant professor, and Dr. Mark Unruh, associate professor. The ideal candidate will conduct quantitative research using large, health insurance claims-based analytic files. The Department has significant data resources, including a nationally representative sample of Medicare claims, experienced programmers who support data management, and a state-of-the-art computing environment.

The successful candidate will participate in health policy and economics research with a focus on two areas: (1) telehealth use in nursing homes and the quality of care for residents; and (2) ownership structures of nursing homes and hospices and the quality and cost of care.

  • A PhD in health services research, health economics, health policy, or a closely related field
  • Experience conducting research using large administrative data such as insurance claims
  • Strong econometric analysis skills

  • Interest in aging research

Salary established below per annum commensurate with qualifications experience: 
$75,000-$88,000
