Postdoctoral Associate in Biostatistics

The Division of Biostatistics within the Department of Population Health Sciences at Weill Cornell Medicine is looking for an outstanding candidate for a postdoctoral position in biostatistics. The postdoctoral researcher will work under the direct supervision of Samprit Banerjee, PhD, who is an associate professor of population health sciences in the Division of Biostatistics. This position will involve a healthy mixture of methodological and collaborative research in biostatistics. Methodological research may include, but is not limited to, machine learning methods, especially for correlated outcomes, time-to-event modeling, and multivariate statistics. Collaborative research may include, but is not limited to, mHealth (smartphone and wearables) studies, observational studies involving “big” administrative data (electronic health records, health insurance claims), and clinical trials in mental health and COVID-19 research. This position will require preparation of statistical/biostatistical manuscripts, assistance in preparation of biomedical/clinical manuscripts, preparation of relevant statistical software packages, and other academic activities.

Position Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have a PhD in statistics, biostatistics, or a closely related field and will be knowledgeable in machine learning methods. Candidate must also have ability to engage in independent thinking, be diligent and meticulous in their attitude towards work, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be collegial in their interaction. The candidate must demonstrate scholarship through published or under-review manuscripts and demonstrate independent ability to write manuscripts.
