The Department of Population Health Sciences at Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM) in New York City (NYC) is actively recruiting a tenure-track faculty member (Assistant Professor rank) in health informatics. Areas of research expertise and training include:
- Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) approaches for analyzing biomedical data, including but not limited to, causal inference, generative AI, and graph based learning.
- Experience on the research in cross-cohort cross-modality analysis of diverse biomedical data, such as electronic health records, multi-omics, medical images, and others.
- Mining real world data for computational drug development, such as target trial emulation, eligibility criteria optimization, and digital twin technologies.
- Clinical decision support and implementation of AI/ML models in clinical workflows.
The faculty member would join an outstanding and collaborative department, and will be appointed in the Division of Health Informatics which is a multi-disciplinary research division with expertise in artificial intelligence/machine learning, mobile and digital health, patient-reported outcomes, clinical imaging, and natural language processing. Faculty in this division have multiple opportunities for collaboration with clinical researchers at WCM, as well as partner institutions New York-Presbyterian Hospital, the Hospital for Special Surgery, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and Cornell Tech, which is Cornell’s NYC-based engineering campus.
The successful applicant will have a Ph.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent in health informatics, biomedical informatics, computer science, information science, health services research or a related field. The applicant will have a record of significant research accomplishments, including developing and sustaining extramural funding, and will demonstrate a strong ability to mentor students, post-doctoral researchers, and junior faculty members. The successful candidate will also have experience in curriculum development, teaching, and scholarship activities in biomedical and health informatics. The candidate should have strong communication skills, an established record of interdisciplinary work, and be ready to foster collaborative opportunities in research, education, service, and innovation, including engaging with industry partners and entrepreneurship. The successful candidate will also have an opportunity to become a member of the newly established WCM Institute of AI for digital health (AIDH) and work closely with other members in the institute.

Salary established below per annum commensurate with qualifications experience:
Assistant Professor: $147,800 – $172,638

The salary range listed is for full‐time employment not including bonuses or benefits. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, specialty, training, and hospital/community needs.
