Yiyuan Wu is a research biostatistician III in the Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM) Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology. She holds a Master of Science degree in Statistics with a focus on Biostatistics from the School of Arts and Science at Rutgers University and a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Kentucky. Prior to joining WCM, Yiyuan worked as a data analyst in the department of Critical Care Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center. She worked closely with doctors and health informatics team on developing and implementing machine learning based score system that enables early detection of sepsis in the ER.
Yiyuan carries out both short- and long-term biostatistical consultations. Most of her work involves providing analysis, reports, method sections and analysis plans for abstracts, manuscripts and grants. She works closely with internal statistical faculty members on Mental Health research and with faculty members in the division of Health Policy & Economics on Health Care expenditure research using claim and HER –based data. In addition, she provides biostatistical support to researchers in the department of Hematology/Oncology.
