Position Summary
Working closely with leadership in the Department of Population Health Sciences, the Director of Education is responsible for the operations, program development, recruitment, admissions and student services of the Executive MBA/MS in Healthcare Leadership program. This New York City-based dual degree is conducted jointly with The Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.
The Director of Education is primarily responsible for the overall success, excellence and implementation of this program under the leadership of the Executive Director of Education in the Department of Population Health Sciences.
Job Responsibilities
- Works collaboratively with the leadership at Weill Cornell Medicine and the Johnson School to develop and implement program(s) and contribute to its overall excellence and strategic vision.
- Manages day-to-day program operations including admissions, curriculum development, student life, career services, and marketing.
- Develops and executes a recruitment plan for each of the degree programs to ensure annual admissions/revenue targets are met. Develops various marketing plans and initiatives for student outreach.
- Develops programs and resources aimed at improving Student Life and Career Services. Improves student satisfaction measurements from surveys.
- Provides academic advisement to students and connects students to other resources as appropriate.
- Directs administrative strategies and develops and implements systems to enhance the operations of programs. Creates administrative structures to assess and improve performance of education staff.
- Works with the Executive Director of Education to develop the annual operating budget for the program, including budgeting for recruitment and outreach events. Approves operational expenses, including budgeting for recruitment and outreach events.
- Plans for staff development, conducts annual evaluations, providing critical feedback, arranging training both internal and external.
- Plans logistical aspects of operations, such as event/session planning, webinars, open houses and space/classroom planning.
- Oversees the management of the existing offerings and implements changes to current procedures, as needed. Establishes relationships to foster future collaborations and opportunities for students.
Education
- Master's Degree in related field
Experience
- 5 - 7 years of progressive experience in education administration, operations, and program development. Supervisory experience in higher education.
- Successful track records of leading program expansions and/or successful launching of new programs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Leadership skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects.
